The "great mormon" butterfly

Toucheng Farm, is blessed with various kinds of butterflies, which decorate the Farm all spring, summer, fall and even wintertime.

One of these is the Papilio Memnon butterfly or "great mormon ", which belongs to the swallowtail family. They are one of the large sized butterfly up to 120 - 150 mm, in width and an endemic specie of Taiwan. For your enjoyment, here are some photos to view:

They have nine forms in all, 4 male and 5 females, which means they could be tailed or tailless and variety in colors.
Here at Toucheng Farm, they usually visit the flowers like Lantana camara, jasmine, etc. and sip the flower's nectar which the farm has in abundance. That's the reason for their presence.

As a tour guide, I always hear guests say, "I like this place" and one student told me " I want to live here" . Are you a nature lover? Why not visit Toucheng Farm and see for yourself the wonder of nature at its best!
