Chinese New Year 2012 - 5th day

The North-east coast is one of the must-see scenic spots in Taiwan.
At Toucheng Leisure Farm, every guest who is brave enough to get up at dawn is rewarded a sight of a spectacular scene - sunrise!

Today hundreds visited the Farm together with their families and relatives to celebrate the year of the dragon.

Chinese New Year 2012- 4th day

It's the 4Th day of the Chinese New Year Holiday, and many come to stay at Toucheng Leisure Farm to celebrate the occasion regularly. Here's one of the reasons:

Look at our Farmer, he is busy planting vegetables of all kinds for the guests to eat. No chemical fertilizer is used, and he cares for it lovingly.


After harvest, it is delivered right away to the small kitchen,

washed and boiled or steamed according to one's choice,


and your food is ready!

Chinese New Year 2012 - 3rd day

Toucheng Leisure Farm has a huge mandarin orange orchard. Every springtime coincidentally during the Chinese New year festival, they bear abundant fruits. Visitors at this time can pick oranges right from the tree, eat and bring some to feast with family and friends.

They are so attractive and are pleasantly tasty.
During the Chinese New Year season, oranges is one of the welcoming fruits, due to its round shape - a symbol of wholeness and wellness.








The third day of the new year is party time to be with family members and spend this day to relax and enjoy the season.

Mandarin oranges is usually given as presents by visiting guests to their hosts.

Chinese New Year 2012 - 2nd day

At the second day of the Chinese New Year, it is customary for daughters to go home to her parent's home for a visit.

Today, many families celebrated the second special day at Toucheng Leisure Farm. Husbands accompanied their wives to greet her family at the beginning of the new year.

The Chinese New Year is very well explained as family gathering, gift-giving and food festival. Here in Taiwan this tradition is deeply rooted and celebrated by all, Taiwanese and foreigners alike.


It is a time to stop office work for rest and relaxation.

Chinese New Year 2012 - 1st day

Today is the first day of Spring. It is also celebrated as the Chinese New Year.
At the counter of Toucheng Leisure Farm is a welcoming figure: the god of wealth, a special character among the Chinese. It is believed that he can bring prosperity if invoked especially at the beginning of the new year. This sign is hanged at the activity center to wish everyone a happy new year!


This scene welcomes everyone who visit Toucheng Leisure Farm during this occasion. Today, hundreds of guests flock to the Farm despite the freezing cold weather and the rainy day.


Toucheng Leisure Farm atmosphere is filled with the spirit of the Chinese New Year!



I will be telling you more about the activities and the news about the occasion, very special to the heart of every Chinese as it is part and parcel of their culture.


Chinese New Year is celebrated from the first day to the 15Th day of the month. It is like Christmas of the Westerners.

Columbia English Language School of Taipei

Columbia English Language School of Taipei's 18 students and three Teachers spent 2 days and 1 night at Toucheng Leisure Farm last Jan 18-19.
The photos taken and published below were recorded during the second day of their visit.

The first stop was at the rice paddies where they learned how rice is produced.



Here they feed the goats, watched the geese, turkeys, rabbits and wild boars.



Gathering oranges, and kumquats and some calamondins was fun. Tasting the sweet oranges and bringing home some fresh ones was even more memorable!
The water buffalo's cart was indeed an attraction!











Toucheng Leisure Farm has a special area designated for LOHAS, where they can relax and have a pose at the swing.

CHing Hai Primary School of Taipei

Around 50 Students and Teachers of Ching Hai Primary School, stayed at Toucheng Leisure Farm for a two days and one night visit.
They participated all the activities planned for the first day like kilning, barbecue party (dinner), and making, writing their wishes, releasing the sky lanterns.

Here are the photos taken during the second day of their stay.

Here they are gathering the oranges and kumquats. Besides eating them right there, they also brought home some for their parents and siblings to taste!




Visiting the Farm animals area and feeding the goats was fun indeed!
The visit wpuld be incomplete without treading the rice paddies. Toucheng Leisure Farm teaches its guests both young and old how to transplant rice seedlings in the rice paddies barefooted!

Asian Domesticated water buffalo calf



The Asian domesticated water buffaloes cow usually give birth every 2 years.

Toucheng Leisure Farm's domesticated cow gives birth every year.
