Azaleas

Azalea is a flowering shrubs in the genus Rhododendron. They bloom beautifully during springtime and the flowers can last for several weeks.

Azaleas are also known in Chinese as "thinking of home" bush and mentioned in many contemporary stories of Pai, Hsien-Yung a Taiwanese writer.

Here at Toucheng Leisure Farm, they beautify the surrounding and bloom in pure white, whitish pink, and rose pink colors.

A warning though: despite its beautiful appearance, Azaleas is a highly toxic plant. Both its leaves and nectar including honey from its nectar.

But beware: receiving a bouquet of Azalea (any color!) in a black vase, was a well-known death
threat!!!!

It's just for your information.

Enjoy the blooming Azaleas at Toucheng Leisure Farm, you'll dream of them sweetly at night!

Spring Festival 2015, Day 3

At Toucheng Leisure Farm, a display of special dishes and fruits on a corner to remind guests of their significance during the  Chinese New Year festivities.

Good fortune fruits: oranges especially for its round "fullness"

and golden "wealth" meanings!

Red is significant during the new year as it signifies energy, good wishes and
                                                                      luck  for the new year!

Chinese Lunar New Year 2015 Day 1

Today is the first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year 2015. It is also called the Spring Festival and the most important feast celebrated during the year by all Chinese worldwide.

Comparing it to Christtmas and New year of the western world is easy to understand how the Chinese
celebrate this feast.

It is a time for family, friends and food!

A 12-year cycle of animal zodiac is followed.

This year is the year of the goat or sheep.

And doors are decorated  with red, a symbol of luck and prosperity.
like the photo below of Toucheng Leisure Farm's entrance of the
