Variegated Stag Beetle (Odontolabis siva)

This is a variegated stag beetle. Both sexes are black and lustrous.

It is one of the favorite attractions during summer.

Stag beetles have a pair of antler-like mandibles on their heads for defense which could knock down their enemies to the ground during a fight.

Where are going this Summer? Any plans? How about a visit to Toucheng Leisure Farm, you can watch the fireflies evening time, or search stag beetles or the awesome "human-faced" spider day time as they rest on its web!

Welcome!
