Chinese New year activities
Chinese New Year celebrations at Toucheng Farm was a memorable success !
Guests were entertained with various games and activities planned especially for the occasion.
To give you an idea of what happened, here I prepared some photos for your consideration. You should have been here to celebrate with us!
Those wearing pink are employees of the Farm. See, how busy they are and how happy the guests were, too!
Games they used to play for years are played again with their children or grandchildren! Ice cream or cotton candies are served, grilling corn on the cob, or sausages, etc....
Memories are recalled by the guests and their families, all are here at Toucheng Farm celebrating the Chinese New Year or Spring Festival this year 2011!

Tree fern - Cyatheaceae
My attention was caught by the intricate beauty of this fern tree.
While walking around Toucheng Farm ,looking for some images for my blog, I stopped and focus my camera to this marvelous scene. It is indeed a cure for sore eyes! Look closer, you will notice the scaly , hairy curly new leaf!
They had been here growing around us since the Jurassic era! This very ancient tree fern can grow up to 20 meters high! Their erect-truck like stem is very prominent and attention -getting spot.

Kumquat - Fortunella margarita
As the Chinese New Year is two-weeks away, the fruit orchard is very colorful with the ripening of the kumquat. This "little gems of the citrus family" is an oval-shaped fruit with a shape and size of an olive.
Their sweet edible rind can be eaten raw or preserved into marmalade, jam, jelly or candy..
With a cup of warm water mix a spoonful of a candied kumquat and you can drink the mixture like a warm orange-juice. Spread its jam on a white bread or toast, you can taste the delicious flavor of a sweet kumquat for a snack!
Here are some of Toucheng Farm's guests who had a bountiful harvest of Kumquats during their visit and tour of the Farm!

The joy of picking and tasting the fruits right from the tree is a satisfying experience. Much more bringing some home to share with your family and friends this fresh fruits.
Many use the fresh and colorful kumquat to decorate their dining tables for the Chinese new year holidays.
Come to Toucheng Farm and gather some during this season. They are in abundance!
