Perilla frutescens

Perilla comes in both green and purple colored leaf. It's seeds are sometimes called "wild sesame" and a source of perilla oil.
This humble plant is used in Chinese medicine as a stimulant for interferon activity and our body's immune system.

When leaves are fried with garlic or ginger, it could ease your common colds symptom's once consumed.
Its leaves has minerals, calcium, iron and potassium of high contents and rich in fiber and riboflavin and even richer in Vitamin A and C.

At Toucheng Leisure Farm's vegetable garden, Perilla has a special place. This photos you see are evidence of its presence.
