Golden Shower tree

This beautiful golden shower flower is also in full bloom at this time. This tree is usually filled with flowers without a single leaf when they are in full-bloom - a beautiful sight indeed!

This is the national flower of Thailand as its yellow flowers symbolizes Thai royalty. I always tell our Thai foreign workers who comes occasionally together with their Taiwanese co-workers about this.

They are an attraction near the domesticated animals area at Toucheng Farm. Many yellow petals fall to the ground, attractive just the same.

Cassia fistula's ( it's scientific name ) fruit is a legume, but has a pungent odor and contain many seeds which are poisonous.

Toucheng Farm has an abundant fauna and flora in its more than 100 hectares of land. With its fresh, clean and lush environment, living creatures here are healthy and happy!
We welcome you to share a day or two with us and our nature friends. You will go home relaxed and refresh!

Golden Shower Tree

Toucheng Farm's Golden Shower Tree is blooming. If you pass by the Farm animal's section you will have a full glimpse of this attractive tree.

Golden Shower Tree's (Cassia fistula) flower is five petals of equal size and shape. It's fruit is a legume with a pungent odor and has several poisonous seeds. It blooms profusely and covers the whole tree leaving no leaf left, a spectacular sight indeed!

Other parts of this tree like its fruit pulp or roots are medicinal.

It is the national flower of Thailand, which symbolizes Thai royalty. Last time some Thai nationals visited Toucheng Farm and I told them this is "dok khuen", they understood and you could have seen the smile on their faces!

Welcome to Toucheng Farm and enjoy the sight.
