  Toucheng Leisure Farm is the first privately owned institution in Yilan County

to pass and rewarded the prestigious certificate by the Environmental Protection Administration,} EPA} Government of Taiwan, the Republic of China.

 

The five other awardees in Yilan County are publicly owned, they are ShenKo Ecological Area, Loutung Natural Educational Center, Wulaokeng Scenic Area, Taiwan Opera Hall and Yilan County Garbage Recycling Ground.

 

Toucheng Leisure Farm is a union of a Farm Enterprise and the 3 aspects of “Ecology, Product and Living”.

 

After the promulgation of the Environmental Education } EE} Law on June of 2011, the Government and its Departments, schools from the Senior High School down to the Elementary Schools must participate at least 4 hours a year activities dedicated to Environmental Education. This will enable them to pass this and will be awarded a certificate.

The entrees are required to have a qualified EE personnel, an abundant ecological qualities, humanities, special facilities and amenities. They must offer a resourceful and multi-functioning EE program of activities which will allow the people to recognize the importance of a clean environment to guarantee a sustainable life.

To follow this trend, Toucheng Leisure Farm is discovering new ideas to prepare nutritious, tasty vegetarian dishes from the Farm,s vegetable gardens and here are some of the colorful and attractive platters to whet your sight, smell and palate!

Fruit Vinegar from the Farm

 Fruits of different kinds are abundant at  Toucheng Leisure Farm during the summer season.
One of the many fruits is the calamondin orange fruit. It belongs to the citrus family
}citrus microcarpa}.

They can produce thousands of fruits in a year and can be made into juice, candy, jelly or vinegar.

 

This summer we use this to make vinegar DIY for our guests.

 

It,s so easy to make, even a child can help and enjoy the activity.

 

After 3 months of fermentation, it can be opened and serve as a healthy vinegar, hot or cold drink.

 

You can taste this refreshing beverage at the Farm at this time of the year!
